Default intercooler quickie

what boost will a standard 2wd intercooler handle is it best to upgrade when i fit my stage 3 kit? cheeRS

You would be better off with a 4wd I/C, from what I have read a 2wd would be right on the limit over 300 bhp. I have one if you decide to go that route. cheers Ed

At stage three 4x4 i/cooler is a must, std 2wd one ok up to stage 1 or there abouts but even on limit then.

Got mine for £17 ebay special, was another tenner to repaint from blue to black though.

when my m8 changed his saph 2wd cossie to stage 3 he left the standard intercooler in!!! 1 weeks l8er he was having a engine rebuild because of a melted piston!!!! i would definatly advise getting a new intercooler he put a RS500 intercooler in which has worked so far.

A fuelling check would have revealed if it was running lean enough to cause this condition, which would be advisable when upgrading or changing things anyway.
You can never have too big an intercooler, so long as it does not impede flow elsewhere.
