I have got a few small rust spots on my escort, one is the size of a 10p coin the rest are 5p size.They run along the d/s inside door shut, one on the outside. What would be the best way of sorting them? Thanks

 

hammerite kurust just brush it on then paint over

 

if its on the doorstep any touch up will only be temporary as it usually rusts from the inside, best way is to cut it out and replace with new metal, then fill the sills with waxoyl,

 

As above if you dont want it to come back then cut the rust right out.

 

Again, as above if you want it gone forever you need to remove the rust.

But.....you will NEVER completely remove rust from a panel, because of the way rust forms. The best way where possible is to ditch the whole panel and replace it with a new one, but obviously on the sills thats not very easy.

Cutting the rust out will considerably prolong the life of the panel, but it will always come back, maybe not for many years though if done to a hgih standard
