Ello all, i have a 1989 sapphire cossie, its had loadsa mods done to it ect ect, but recently ive noticed i cant seem to accelerate over 4000rpm in 2nd 3rd and 4th, it accelerates like a bat outta hell, then soon as it gets to 4000rpm nothing!!! can anybody help me (please) THANX

 

i had this problem with a d reg chipped rs s2
the hoses samco air hoses where
collapsing on high revs
might be worth a try took i it to a tuner
in warrington and cringed as he reved
the fook out of it standing still.. the main
induction hose collapsed car just died

what does your boost gauge tell you at 3750 rpm and what does it read at 4100?

 

check if a p8 ecu (escort coz type) was fitted with all the mods.if so then you have a sensor failure,p8 ecu,s restrict engine revs to 4000 rpm or there abouts for sensor failures,

I checked the boost, at 3750 its 10psi and at 4100 its 20psi, also i found out exactly what was done to the engine b4 i bought it, multilayer steel headgaset, big escort turbo,-31 actuator,k&n filter, stage 3 superchip, mongoose exhaust,dark green 803 injectors, 3bar map sensor,alloy rs500 intercooler, 0.05 mahle pistons, cheeRS

 

plz help anybody!!

 

check there aint a prob or leak with the wastegate/actuator cos i had similar proba and the exhust housing was fooked

 

how do you check if theres a problem or a leak in the wastegate/actuator ?

 

WHAT ABOUT PLUG GAPS

 

check the cornections to the amal valve just make sure there on ok i had them playing around on me
