i wonder if anyone can shed some light for me on my cossie.

I have recently purchased a modded sapphire. It has a dual stage boost sports exhaust ( supersprint ) and a free flow filter change. The cam is a piper ( but cant remember the spec )The previous owner says the chip has been changed, but I dont know what this chip is. It has yellow injectors.

He rated it about 240bhp on 1 bar and 300 on 1.5. However my local tuner tells me it cant be that high on second stage as the injectors are original.

Is there some way of finding the chip spec from the chip, and is the ionfo about the injectors correct.

Hi Paul,

You can't tell the spec of the chip without specialist equipment and knowledge. Take it somewhere where they are very familiar with Cossies.

Yellow injectors are generally OK to 1 bar.

 

mmmmmm.....1.6bar on yellow injectors...OMG...very lean running.

 

So, I am best off keeping off the 1.5 bar boost for the mo.

Then sourcing some higher rated injectors and maybe swap the chip to something I know.

hey im running 1.5 on yellows wiv ahmed bajyoo stage 1 chip and if anything i am running to rich but 300bhp at 1.5 bay you were told isnt true if anything 270bhp at the most wiv standerd injectors but after that you will need 3bar map sensor group a headgasket and light green injectors for 320 bhp or dark green for 360 bhp stage 2 chip for light greens or stage 3 chip for dark greens hope this helps you

I think I would be running the stage one chip at the mo, as mine too is running pretty rich. Only just squeezed it thru the emissions tests here in italy.

Exactly what function does the 3 bar map sensor perform ? Is it some kind of enhanced fuelling sensor ?

With the upgrade of injector and chip, is it merely a swap over thing, and then check the fuelling, or do I need to get the car ro ro'd
