so are you saying the timing is correct NOW and it wont start? if so 1st thing to do now is check for compression from all the cylinders as it may have bent some of the valves which was why it was missing b4

Are you SURE it was a tooth out before..........
Common sense says to me if it would idle nice before and won't now, its NOW a tooth out.
The CVH is fairly forgiving i got the pulley a tooth out on a N/A engine before and it was ok, just drove like a pile of poo

Its not uncommon to have lumpy idle, thats another 120+ VAT on the bill to fix
I bet the belt is out a tooth you've got to remember you can turn the bottom end over and hardly notice the difference at the top end.
Get the belt back off, get the bottom timing mark BANG on TDC, then line the cam up, and pull the front edge of the belt up to the cam pulley, is should fit in teeth nicely, if it doesn't something is out of line!
And does you car have a vernier pulley by any chance?

All the valve opening/closing times get altered so it runs shit.
EFI is a good step but i can almost guarantee your lumpy idle on warm up is caused by the brake servo, Ł120+ VAT for a new one

true, maybe best to get a new one when i can, occoasionally new ones pop up on ebay, never knew it was the cause of the erratic idling

Can be!
Disconnect the vacuum pipe and block the hole and leave it to warm up, i think you'll find its the cause! The MFI RST's are very sensitive to air leaks.

Unplug the cold start injector, and there should be a mark on the dizzy that lines up with a mark on the head if your lucky, that should get it started

Take the cam belt cover off, set the bottom end where you've currently been setting it to fit the cam belt, and take a picture so i can see the notch in the pulley and the timing marks. (VERY hard i know but its tough )
And also one of the cam pulley again so i can see the timing marks.

All looks spot on to me, i wasnt expectin the bottom pulley picture from underneath, so just to confirm, the pulley is lined up with "0" yea?
However HOW FAR adavanced is your timing
Set the dizzy int he middle, i can't tell if you've got the leads in the right places with the dizzy that far out of adjustment
Oh and buy Windows XP you cheap skate

It will missfire mate you've flooded it remember.
Start it up, and hold the revs as low as you can without it cutting out, shouldn't take much, and it will soon clear
trust me on this
