Default Compression Ratio

Currently rebuilding a 2 litre Zetec (E). Hoping to have my block decked, and my head skimmed (as its in a million bits) to up the compression ratio.

Can anybody advised on how much can be done, plan to put larger vavles and high lift cams in too.

What do you want the compression to be? Just remember that the squish distance is quite carefully designed to start with and removing material from the block can bring the pistons into contact with the head. Also keep in mind that different zetec head gaskets have very different thicknesses.

11 or 12 to 1. Already got a Steel headgasket. I have checked head clearance and looks okay, just vavles Im worried about.

Imagine I`ll have to run it on premium then too
