try pushing the part just infront of the white part in with a screwdriver and pull the pipe as you do

yep - you need a spanner or pair of plier that fits around the pie so that you can push the bit coloured in red backwards while pulling the pipes apart - you might need to spray it up with wd40 to clean out the grit from it first

markc, told you this is the place you would find me.

As above, however i find 2 small screwdrivers best. And the other thing ive learn't is to use the screw drivers not only to push the clip in, but to also push the pipe off. Pushing with screwdrivers/your designated tool and pulling the pipe doesn't seem anywhere near as effective, and ive struggled with a lot of these

Just saying like, the post count should say something but how much time i spend on here compared to the Orion Register

A tool will always be handy, but being realistic its very hard to damage them if you use a couple of small precison screw drivers. Just for your info, presuming your car is EFI, look at the clip holding the brake servo pipe into the inlet plenum, they are exactly the same

MarkC - do you live in Chelmsford?

Just wondering because I sold my old 1600E interior to someone called MarkC a couple of years back!

Looking good mate, - tidy Orions are very scarce these days. Good to see the interior's still looking the bollox. 6 years in my old mans loft obviously didn't do it any harm...

I've sold the RS2000 and the RS1600i now and replaced them with an EsCos and a Mk3 Escort 1.6 i cabriolet. Still miss the RS16i though - that thing was like a go-kart. Could do about 50 around the B&Q roundabout and it loved revving .

I've got a spare superchip for an EFi CVH down the shed if you want one lol...
