Hi,
I've got a 2003 Mk3 Mondeo TDCI Zetec.

It's a good car in most respects but totally infuriating in one.

It is the first car I've had since my 1948 E Series Morris where the panel lights were undimmable. And they are BRIGHT.

I find night-driving tedious in the glare of these monsters.
And I'm a bit gobsmacked at this pennypinching by Ford really. I suppose they think the prospective purchaser is never going to check something like that?

The question is how to dim them? I've found it very hard to get authoritative advice, even from Ford!
A Ghia swith (around £90!) MIGHT do it apparently because it has a dimmer incorporated.
I did buy a Mk2 dimmer rheostat off Ebay. Can I fit this on the panel light feed from the existing switch?
Someone told me this might not work LEDs or ICAN zone or something.
Has anyone done this successfully?
