Default Im puzzled

Not sure what’s up with this one.

Basically when I did the cam belt and head gasket the other week I noticed the inner shoulders of my tyres were a little shagged. Any way, the car was put back together thought no more of it.

Went out to give it a run the other day and even slow corners (about 30mph) the front left tyre was squealing. The car just didn’t feel nice through the s/wheel. No self aligning feel.

Took it down to a place in town to get the tracking done. They said it was miles out. Sorted it at 15 quid which I didn’t mind.

Driving back it felt just as bad but I also noticed there was a nock every time I braked or accelerated moderately.

Had a good check to day and the arms are fine (polybushed). Only thing I noticed it a knocking as I turned it from lock to lock. (Maybe the racks gone but it would cause that much wear surely?)

Went out for another drive. Noticed when I braked and heard the knock the car felt fine again. Loads of feed back though the wheel. Could it be the lower arm carrier or some thing. Im clueless now

Mk3.5 Fiesta with PS btw.

right it mite be the rack cause play in the rack wood cause the tyres to go like that but it mite be something more simple like wheel bearing that wood make the knockin sound

Cheers for the reply. Its one knock rather than a knocking. Almost as if the bushing had gone. Wheels spin fine and no play
