My mate bought a new battery for his escort rs after fitting it his clifford alarm is constantly armed and won't disarm, so he can't use his car has anyone else had a similar problem or knows how to fix it. the alarm is a clifford concept 50x, he hasn't done anything to the car apart from change the battery.

try changing the battery in the remote!

ps tell him to put it in Valet mod then as he should be able to use the car till he gets it sorted!

sounds like the alarm has lost its code memory so its not recognising the remote , if he opens the car and disarms it on the 2 button dash switch ( its should be in the alarm manual how to do this ) and follow the instructions for "learning a new remote" also found in the manual

for the future!! next time(not helping you at the moment though!!)before the battery is disconected clip your battery charger to your battery terminal cable then as you remove the battery you still have a feed to your alarm etc(clip to earth on body) the alarm only needs a small amount of current to keep it alive!! as the other guy says put it in mode-. as it happens you have a small power pack that keeps your alarm going in the event of battery disconection!!!!!!!!!!!-the alarm is actually doing its job and waiting for you to tell it what to do!!!!!!!

[quote="SafeChav"]Clifford alarms are fuckin shit

ALOT of the problems caused with Clifford alarms ARE caused by the so called fitter fitting them poorly and NOT the actual alarms units themselve which aint too bad to be fair !

Lol, while i was thinking of it, i removed a concept 300 from a MK4 a while back.....and i think your comment about poor fitment was a little below the belt mate.

Can you see anything wrong here...........

Looks all good to me
