I think that you can get spacers so you dont have to drill the top mount,
Phone people like A1 Rally or GGR, Woodfords etc.

If you do deside to drill it out make sure that it is spot on for size as you dont want the bolt to move as i will possibly make the whole bigger as it bounces up and down.(I may be wrong though)

A1 is on 01767 691 617 but they are closed till Jan 5th

As for the knocking have you made sure its not the spring catching the inner arch as i had this problem with my Avo coilovers

it could be they are very close and the spaces i got with them dont fit in to the rose in any way they look like they are just bits of plastic tube cut to the right size if it is the springs catching how do you sort it

If you jack the car up you should be able to see it touching, if it is that making the noise.
Think it will be on passenger side iirc.
The way i sorted mine was to heat up the metal with a blow tourch and hammer it in, but i wasn't keen on doing this

I hope you have a strutbrace at the rear between the inner wheelarches?

If not fit one because the chassis is not built for the loads you create with coilovers because the wheelarches now take the FULL vehicle weight instead of just the shocks.

If the wheel arches say BYE BYE you're looking a sh#tload of work.

I know this is what people say
But how can a strut brace cure this as you will still have the same force on the rear turrets on lauching, or is the problem only on cornering?

Gav adding a rear Strut brace just allows the forces to be stread as the brace in effect ties in the 2 shock towers together along with the boot floor, which limits the amount of flex, also what I do when fitting Coil overs is to drill the hole out and also weld a 1/8" washer either side to stop the hole elongating.
