A few months ago it started to get hard to select 4th gear when going up the box but if you were very slow or had two or three goes at it it would go in. If you were coming down the box it was no problem..

Now i cant get 4th at all going up or down

If i let the car tick over i can get 4th no problem when at a stand still

What do you think by the way the box is only 39000 miles from new

4th gear syncro mate needs sorting

 

Will that cost a lot and is there a reason for this to happen..

its just down to wear on the syncro ring you need to talk to a gear box place for cost the main problem is getting 5th gear off the shaft with out breaking it

 

I think for a "software rebuild by Bernie, its about £350 this includes syncos. 4th is where it usually goes on 2wd saffs
