my alternator belt snapped yesterday, one of the round thingys locked up lol i can see which one it is, its on a 1600 zetec engine, if its the water pump pulley does that mean it would of broke the water pump too???

 

here are some pics of the belt, in one i have circled what i believe to be the suspect for it snapping, what does this pulley control??
