help with 6x9s
i had a pair of 500watt kick ass 6x9s put in my car not long ago, i know i need an amp to run em at full whack, but i had 300watts in my old car and they sound superb without amp, now these sound crap, cant even but the slightest bit of bass on em and they get distorted at quite low volumes, i tried my m8s speaker which works nice in his car in the same setup in mine and it sounded crap, ive tried all the diff equal and stuff on the stereo and the wiring is fine, what else could it be???
The surroundings of the speakers, what they are mounted to and how much space is behind them will make a MASSIVE difference.
Also.......have you tried a different headunit as that could be faulty!

The numbers dont mean anything compared to each other unless they are both measured in the same units.
The only which actually means anything is an RMS figure - which that won't be.
What happens if you use his stereo in your car then?
