You should never fit old lifters to a new cam, and you also need to use cam lube when you're fitting a new cam too.

You really need the kit as otherwise you'll have to buy all the bits seperately.

Never on a CVH will you get away with fitting a new cam with old lifters because they wear so bad.

A kit isn't a lot more anyway.

Its down to personal preference really. I was thinking of getting a Kent CVH32 which is supposed to have a power band between 1500 and 6500 RPM.

I've been hearing bad things about Kent cams wearing out so I've stuck with a new standard one for the moment and will probably get a Piper next year.
