Default cosworth probs

i have a 2wd sapphire and it runs fine untill its warmed up to aprox 75degrees then its misfires and generally runs crap i have changed the blue sensor in the back of the head and also the brown 1 in the plenum but problem still there any help much appreciated cheers

took it out today and when its cold runs perfect still prob when warm any ideas cheers

tricky one this

have you checked the wiring to the water temp sensor ?

has the cam belt been off recently ?

i have had cambelt recently changed.
and the temperature gauge seems to work ok
do you repair cosworths for a living

no - check the blue temp sensor wiring, not the temp sender (gauge) wiring

no thank fuck


When you say it runs OK until warm, do you mean it idles OK or does it actually drive OK.

car runs and idles ok and when engine is running and i disconnect the blue sensor plug it stalls does this info help cheers

try changing the coil, at least to eliminate it.they can break down when hot giving all sorts of problems,plug leads can do the same

tried changeing plugs leads and coil still problem there cheers
