hi, basically i want to find out a bit about a cheap escort i might buy as a project to either break and sell or restore it. Could anyone tell me anything about a J reg 1.8 twin cam??? He says its 130bhp however its got a few problems, a bit of rust around the petrol cap, some rust on front arch, a crack in the exhuast tip, the stereo wont work requires code and the ignition barrell is broken as someone tried sticking a screwdriver in it oh and a matt black bonnet. It has mods like quad lights and aftermarket alloys it also has the rs/gti sideskirts and i think an xr3i front bumper (from a photo) which he said are all factory fitted. its got electric windows, sunroof and power steering immobiliser and has only done 70,000 miles. Anyway he offered to me for £250 and i mite go have a look today so is there anything to look out for or is the whole thing too much trouble...
