Default help please suspension lowering

Hi all my mate is selling some lowering springs for an xr2i and he says they'll fit my mk5 b xr3i but i said they wont as i really dont think they will so i thought i'd ask someone in the know,

So the question is will they fit or wont they? If they will fit will it be ok to use them with them being for a 2i? Any help apreciated cheers, Grant

Im not the most familiar with fiestas and MK5 escorts but from what i know i would say not a fucking chance, an escort has coilover set ups on the rear, where as a fiesta has the springs seperate from the shocks

They dont mate xr2i has springs and shocks together as my tyres used to rub on the spring mountings on the shocks on my old one which is why i want to know if they'll fit,

I've been told they will but it'll lower the car more than the spring ratings as they're meant for a lighter car but i'm unsure

Cheers, Grant
