Default Amp / Sub Help

This may be in the wrong fourm, but ive been having some trouble recently with my amp and sub. I have a pioneer 77mp headunit, infinity 6x9s, 300w infinity amp and an infinity sub. All was working fine until i had to take my amp out to fit something in my boot and ever since ive been having nothing but problems.
Firstly, whenever i turn the car on and the headunit comes on (whether on ignition or fulyl started), whatever the amp is connected to (sub or speakers) pops loudly.
Secondly, when the amp is connected to the sub, there is a high pitched whine coming from the sub, and when i rev the car, the whine gets higher in pitch aswell.
Ive checked the remote cable and thats fine, no cables have been removed or disconnected since before when it was all working perfectly.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Rob.

(Appologies if this is in the wrong forum)

i would check the earth connection on the amp, you may have knocked it loose.

Checked that, and its fine. A friend mentioned putting an inline supressor into the power cable coming from the bttery to irraticate the whine with the rev, so will post when ive done that to see if it works. Any other ideas about the popping? Ive got a feeling is a build up of current passed to the connected outlet, almost like a degauss.

If it didn't do it before i'd say there was a good chance the amp is knackered.

Check none of the RCA's have been damaged anywhere, but i personally would have my money on the amp

I think the safe money is on the amp being knackered too, gonna try the amp in someone elses car to see if they have any problems with it aswell, but my hopes arent high. Any recommendations as to what i should replace it with? Was thinking of getting a 4 channel amp so that i can run my 6x9's and my sub from it.

Have your tried running an extra earth lead from your amp earth point to the same earth point at your headunit? This should fix the popping noise.

Shop around for amps, I've had a load in my time - I wouldn't match the rest of your system with an infinity amp, I don't rate them, especially for the price!

The best amp pound for pound I have had and still own is a... Lanzar!
Not much street cred I know but loads of power for the money and lots of features too, including remote bass gains! Take a look at the Lanzar Vibe438, hard to find in the UK but very different to your Les Smith / Halfords stuff I wouldn't touch with a barge pole!
