a have ad a bit of a problem a forgot to tightin up my battery clamp and was out driving at a good speed and the batt hit the bolt on the bonnet and melted wires.butt looks like its jst earth wires so thinkin bout cuttin out the shit and redoin it?

Well you have to do this anyway, should be ok if it was fuseable links that went?.
Remember to replace with appropriate fuses in wires unless you cut out some fuseable linkks from scrappies.

cheers bud av jst bout sorted it a hope soon find out when a fire it up a dnt think it was that bad jst earths that got it really

Only way to see is to try it, diodes in alternator can be very sensitive to this, but not dear or hard to do.
