I'VE AN ESCORT MK7 GTI 115PS. JUST FITTED A 2L THROTTLE BODY & CAMS FROM A ZETEC MONDY, ASHLEY MANIFOLD AND POWERFLOW SYSTEM, AND A FUEL PRESSURE REG FROM MK6 RS2K. DONE AN EXHAUST EMISSIONS TEST AND THE RESULT WAS 0.725% AT 3200RPM, DOES THIS MEAN SHE'S RUNNING LEAN? ALL THE POWER STARTS TO COME IN FROM JUST 0VER 4K RPM. IN FIFTH GEAR SHE WON'T GO PAST 5K RPM, DOES SHE NEED UPRATED PLUGS AND LEADS COS THERE'S ONLY MOTOR FACTOR ONE'S ON THERE. IN ADDITION SHE'S FULL WITH 10W30, WHICH SEEMS TO DISAPPEAR, SHE'S NOT LEAKING ANYWHERE, DOES THIS NEED TO BE CHANGED TO 10W40?

I WANNA DO A REAR DISC CONVERSION ON MY MK7 GTI BUT AM PUT OFF BY THE SILLY PRICES TUNING COMPANIES CHARGE FOR THE CONVERSION KITS. IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN GET A SET OF DISC & CALIPERS ON THERE FROM A MK5 RS2K OR ANY OTHER FORD? WHAT BRACKETS MOUNTING BELLS ETC DO I NEED AND WHERE CAN I SOURCE THEM??

Response should be better with the 1.8 Throttle Body. It's not the main restriction anyway so a pointless 'upgrade'. The cams will be alright. Why did you put the RS2K fuel pressure regulator on? You want to stick with the standard 2.7 bar one.

try the old throttle body and press reg seperately and together to see if one of those is playing up/ leaking etc? how did it perform before? will defo need some sort of setting up as a standard ecu won't have the right fuel and ign. curves for that spec.
who timed cams up? check that out.
possible air leak somewhere? throttle body sealed properly?
is the oil being burnt? blue smoke? high mileage? not good to tune a tired engine, get it back to it's best before making it better.
rs2k rear beam fits straight on with disks on the rear, will just need the flexi hoses too.
