Can anybody tell me anything about the water injection system on the big turbo Escort cossies. Found the pumps and wiring under the rear bench seat, and the bag goes in the boot - but where does/is the front end connected to?? I would guess the inlet manifold?? I have the gp n/a manual and it says that the wiring is connected to pin 12 in the ecu - what triggers it then boost or temp(both?)? I have heard it's not supposed to be any good??

 

I am led to believe it aint worth using the pump which comes with the car.

re where to plum in, stand looking in your engine bay, on the end of the cooler, on the righthandside, there is a blanking plug

 

Ahaaaa!!! There it is!! Mine is actually connected up to it!! I could do with finding out a bit more about it, i.e. when does it trigger etc.

 

Most people would sya not to bother mate, road car stg III and all that... get a chargecooler seperation kit, if you after slightly lower ACTS...

 

Well it's not just that really, I've got an RS500 intercooler to go on it anyway - just want to know all about my car and what it all does etc..

if you are going to do some track days and stuff then the water inj can be plumbed in for safety on hot days. - it uses one on the pins in the back of the ecu to trigger a relay

you can use the existing pump(s) or go for a WRC style pump about 130 quid ish

if you have an rs500 cooler slap it on - you should be fine m8

might be an idea to get an ACT gauge or a secs monitor to see exactly what temps you are getting

And if u fit an secs monitor , u can run the water injection off it ! and program when it comes in at what temp,revs etc etc

 

Just lookin at secs monitors earlier - new one coming out soonish looks quite good!!

 

havnt seen the new one but apart from the built in rev counter being a little hit n miss i think its a brilliant bit of kit . id recomend it to anyone wiv a cossie

 

where can i see a pic of the new SECS monitor,
i was going to buy one now, but if the new one looks good i'll wait for that
