Mapping/set up question.
when mapping cars. do the fuel and ignition maps
effect each other??
as in, if the car is running FOR EXAMPLE
lambda 0.9 would you have to run differnt amount of advance
to if the car ran lambda 1 at the same site.
just something i was wondering today
as i know nothing about mapping!

I see.
so my next question is,
Are the conditions to achieve the best Ignition advance,
the same as the conditions for maximum power fuelling?
as if you had the fuelling at 12.6:1 AFR
would you be able to dial in More or less advance
than if you had fuelling at 14.7:1AFR?
(assuming we are still talking about 1 site only)
(no real need for this graph but illistrates the fuelling ratios well lol)

Yes, you can dial in more advance with a bit richer mixture. Remember though that some of the extrea advance is just to counter the slower burning rate of the richer mixture and doesn't necessarily make that much extra power as expected. Depending on everything obviously....
Also, moving advance around will slightly change the fuelling too. So, it's an everything affects everything scenario as usual.
Remember that with turbo cars the relation between power, efficiency, CR/cams, turbo size, mixture, boost and advance is never straight forward. You need to decide what you want out of it and whether it's an everyday year-round car or a track-day toy.
