Default FIESTA VALVE CLEARANCES

I,ve just bought a 1996 Fiesta Encore 1.3 that is in need of the valves adjusting. i know how to adjust the valves, my problem is that i don,t know what clearance to set them at. according to my haynes manual there is two different engines for this year, the later model supposedly having a sticker on the rocker cover to identify it. The rocker cover on mine has been repainted at some point so has no sticker, the difference between the two engines is .20mm on the exhaust valves.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

try adjusting the clearances to the larger tolerances first, then allow the engine to fully warm up. if it still clatters like a bag of nails, try the tighter tolerances. If the tighter tolerances cause it to misfire when warm, loosen em off again. Clearances are a bit of a guide really, as long as they don't hold the valve open and they aren't clattering, you should be fine.
