ive just fitted new brake pads on my erst and there squealing like a pig (no deliverance jokes please ) i copper greasesed the backing plate edges so why are they squealing?

any help appriciated

get them bedded in Kev, then give them a good pasting, the squealing will stop.
Mintex 1144's by any chance?

 

cheers rich, ill give that a go when ive done a few miles, unfortunatly not mintex 1144's as rally design had none in stock and i needed some asap for the mot so got willwood ones instead (no where else does pads for willwood calipers

copper grease doesn't really stop the squealing, that's why normal pads come with some shims to put the pads at an angle and prevent squealing

 

my 1144's always seem to start off squealy from new, until they bed in and get the surface conditioned with some heat. They periodically start to squeal a bit when they get a glazed from lack of proper use, occasional heavy use to clean the face does the trick though
