martin hadland has his own block but who knows the spec...same as karl....like i said very rare but whats the point when a 200 block is more than enough for 99.9% of people and easily replaceable

my old engine has been stripped and here ya go
205 block
7.2 comp
standard crank and rods lightend and balanced
twin plate race clutch
arp bottom end bolts
wire rung
4x4 gasket
ported head
bd14s
rs500 plenum and t4 t68 hybred
38 psi held on extrunal watgate to 7800 !!!!!!!!!!!!

now here is the mad bit
after 12000 miles of track days and proper thrash about then engine was getting slappy in the bores
so on strip down this is what i found
no head sealin propblems
no cracked head stud holes
worn out bore (to be expected)
mint crank and rods still no wear what so ever would go again
pistons look ok aswell but will find out 2moz
the power was not proven but got me to 178.6 at brunters in 500 set up
plz explane why it never went bang ??????????????

Bloody hell, you should test for the wrc team, if their components can stand your abuse they should last the whole season with no maintenance!

feck me !! duz this mean im gna be needing diffs aswell . i like to drive it like i stole it and race just about everything , even slow cars like festas , just to really piss em off . and theres nothing better than playing with a fast bike and watching his head double take in the mirror when he realizes ur pushing him up the road !! ,
i bet the jag diff was an arse to fit ?

sorry been living under my student rock

somehow i dont think one of those would fit in my car

i have just started a thread on the rs forum asking if there are any issues with running greys on a l6 ecu, what ecu were you running?

this guy has been told that the l6 wont be able to keep up and that he needs a l8
have you heard of this

sorry, does that make me treacherous scum then stu?

stu, am i correct in thinkin the l8 has no advantages over the l6 and that its only the p8 that has lots more mapping points or something?

No mate,
L8 is actually better as it has various multiplyers and transient fuel algorythms in place to improve throttle response, but that wasnt the original question

Greys are fine on L6,8,8B and P8.

mine is using l6 , would that be y it wasnt mapped properly then and was detonating in 3rd 4th and 5th , or is it cos the person that mapped it was a gimp ?

but would it be worth the money upgrading from a l6 to a l8 to run greys?
what would be the plus points?

daddy cool,

I refuse to comment on other peoples work as it can always be the car at fault, but it isnt an issue with its Ecu if its a working L6.

darren.cudd,
but would it be worth the money upgrading from a l6 to a l8 to run greys?
what would be the plus points?
Level 8 will give smoother low speed running and better fuel economy on round town driving than L6.
