im not getting a spark. any ideas

i lost spark on my 89escort rs mk4.i got my trusty circuit tester and found no power getting to the wires on the distributor.if you circuit test the yellow greeny off the pos battery with ignition on the fuel pump should go!!after that i changed the distributor and its been fine!!hope this helps
