Default Problem with electric window.

1995 Ford Escort 1.8 si cabrio. Passenger electric window not working properly. Window closes up to 1 inch from top, then it starts slipping on cogs. You have to push it up manualy. Im told this mechanism is not a cable type, it work on cogs. Can I use similar from a mk5 3 door car?

i would think so, cant see why ford would make different window motors just for the cabriolet, best way is to take your door card off and have a look to see why it isnt working properly,
If the motor is still making a noise before the window is fully up, then it has maybe just come off the runners slightly. have a look before you go buying another motor etc
