Dash light...which sensor

Default Dash light...which sensor

hi there, i have a sierra 3 door cosworth with an escort cossie 4x4 engine fitted to it.....the dash light has started to show that the coolant is low....however on inspection i have full coolant so can only assume its a sensor gone wrong....which sensor is responsible for this and where can i locate it on my engine...

Cheers for the help guys...

P.S. will it affect the way my car runs if ecu has didgy reading from this sesnor cos its been ascting up lately

The header tank will have a wire coming out the side of it which scres in by an outlet similar to the cap.

Its an aftermarket ally type header tank but no wires coming out of it and no sensors....
