Default welding panels.

i cant seem to find any1 local who will weld the panels on my series one. so... how hard would it be for me to teach myself with old practice panels from the scrappies? whats the best welder to use? would you recommend attempting it yourself? bearing in mind ive never welded before, but im pretty dab hand at things so wouldnt attack the s1 untill i had built my confidence with a welder.

any advice or links for advice would be great

Wouldn't advise it mate.Practice on scrap panels by all means and probably weld for real if you were putting a little patch in,but on panels such as wings and front panels where they have got to look "SPOT ON" leave it to the proffesionls.Either take it to bodyshop or get a mobile welder.Needs to be spot welded as well as mig welded.
