anything is possible, but I wouldn't bother

start with a 2.9 V6 Cologne or a YB

In fact, buy this, I know it looks shite but the engine has major potential and will be a bargain

Many moons ago Turbo Technics knocked out a conversion kit for the Sierra DOHC but i cant see there being many still around. As suggested, start off with a better lump to get even more gains.

I might have a 2.9 Cologne V6 for sale as of next week. 60k miles, loads of old MOT's FSH, chipped ECU, twin K&N's, can be heard running in the car, sweet as a nut if you're interested
