dose any one know the amount of lip you ment toave as im rebuilding me rst engine and have a spare block and there a bit of a lip on the top its done 90k so would a rebore be wise as idont want to wast money in area thats not nessary
if i had a rebore will ineed to change pistons and ring etc need some a dvise thanks

No lip, Lip is a sign of bore wear. Rebore is the best way to go if its getting done properly

 

so alittle lip is ok the ring are being replaced etc and mains etc will it smoke as that aworry for me as im oly ging to be driving the car 2000k a year????thanks

 

There is a chance it may smoke, If there is a lip at the top then the will be quite alot more wear further down the bore where there is more thrust. From past experience re ringing an engine doesnt work if there is a lip at the top, There were ok for about 500 miles or so then they started to smoke and it just got worse.
