Default what does a standard chip look like

i guess they're getting rare now , but i'd like to know what the sticker on a STANDARD i.e. 204bhpish cossie eprom looks like. is it printed/ handwritten/ no label?
pics would be nice...
please??

sorry, don't know for certain about 2wd.. but for 4x4:

The label is handwritten with reference "L3e.31"



The outer label on the ECU also carries the same reference, so maybe 2wd is similar, with the external label reference matching the eprom label??

my L8 4x4 doesnt have that - that looks like a stg3 chip with pectel board IMO

Dave, that's a bog standard L8 ECU, baby board is fitted as standard to L8, the Pectel version is visibly similar, but obviously different electrically.
This particular ECU still had the Marelli seals intact before we took the lid off

Mine says 45/620 6y or 67 cant make it out

orrrr, unless mine wasnt a L8 and had been swapped at some time befor ei had it - but the seals were intact on min ebefore i had the ab stg 1 chip fitted. bizzare

Maybe its a P8.

Does it have some large red capacitors inside it, near to the ECU connector in one corner? If so its P8.

dont know, i sold it a couple of years back,, my escos is p8, but its phase 0 chip that was in it was not on a daughter board though.

Certainly wasnt an L8 then thats for sure.
A L8 will work without the board but its virtually a crappy Level 6....

it could say anything realy ,as it is not a special part, only the data in the chip is special, but when i program a chip for a cossie i normally use ......27g4a-15 chips ,the only real way of checking is to put your chip in a eprom pragrammer and veiw the data on it

the original, is that the bloke i bought the manifolds off at bruntingthorpe ,if it is get a picture of your cortina on this forum its cool
