Which side of the turbo? If before the turbo it would suggest too much back pressure or a restrictive turbo not flowing. If after the turbo it would likely be too lean a mixture.

its b4 the turbo basicly at the manifold end before it goes on t3 flange

i did this conversion not thinking of b/pressure i still have std centre box of xr3i and s/s end can seems a bit much prob

i have a tunable b/box in the garage can i remove c/box and put on tunable b/box only due to noise for police theres loads around here

thanks for the reply got a bit worried

Most turbocharged cars manifolds will glow when running around stoich, its not necessarily an issue.

It's the bit about only a few miles and not boosting that makes me think something's amiss. Ignition retarded too much?

Almost impossible to speculate as you will appreciate Bob, hence i said not "Necessarily" a problem to stop others instantly worrying about their red manifolds.. lol.

Ignition retard is deffo a possibility, as is incorrect turbine housing amongst other thingss, but again, it may be fine... may be time for a pro to look her over.

I agree, but I think this engine's on a Megasquirt ecu and therefore the need for a bit more investigation as you say. The heat wrap's probably not helping either.
