Mini update, as I said before I have the 5th gear and bits with it so i called 2 gearbox places for a price on fitting but i also got offered a brand new (still in wrapping) gearbox thats already got the taller 5th for Ł300 (mates rates). So got 2x quotes 1 was Ł260 and the other was Ł280 so FUCK THAT! Bought the gearbox off my mate!
Also called 2 firms about havi g my strut brace adapted to fit (because of boa plenum) 1 of them firms was quest who said and quoted Ł125 on making me a new 1 as it'll be easier so think i'll go with that!
Also after being messed about with wheels I also have now aquired a set of 17" kahn alloys which i am going to be getting proffesionally sprayed gun metal grey in week or too......... I also have a big update but just aquiring the final parts before i update on it!

Last Saturday me and a friend changed my gearbox for the 1 I had acquired that has the taller 5th gear, what we found when removing the old working gearbox though shocked us both. I will let the pictures do the talking!

first time i've seen this one.

i was thinking a 24v swap too.
when i saw the work which had to be done on my saph, i shitted myself off and now i'm going with an easier and boring silvertop swap ...

i have to admit: such big balls you have in there, man!
you've built my dream car.
good job !

I "think" it may have happemed months ago, only thing that can really cause this is stress/vibration/movement and they look like stress fractures probably from when original engine mounts failed!
