Had these for a while but had probs with Photobucket...

Bolt on wings are on.. (some of you may recognise them as they still have the paint from the lastcar they were on! )

 

front panel repaired where i mullered it getting the old wing off and new drip rail for the near side too... better to do it now rather than in a couple of years

 

new split rims are on temporarily.. they're the same as andyescos's ones except the rears are 10x15s.
mounts for front spoiler also fabricated and spoiler fitted.














Still got a few bits to go but Gary's going to be getting stuck into another car for a little while

Looking good! You going "Gulf" colours? proper retro paint! All that fabricating looks the biz, almost too good to paint.Gartrac had a mk2 down there about 6 months ago ready for paint, not even any primer on it, You'd of just laquered over it as paint would of hidden the welds!
Oh, and that Zakspeed kit looks soooooooo 70's! love it.

Andy - not Gulf colours this time around, no. Most of the bits I've bought are off a car that was Gulf colours before so this one is more than likely going to be the dark blue D&W Zakspeed colours.

and the car it will look more like (second one's a model though )... and yes, i realise the blue/orange Gulf colours look great but I'd kinda like to put my own stamp on it!!!

definatly go with the D&W colours. like you say it will put your stamp on it
as nice as the gulf colours are your less likely to see the D&W colours

 

well chuffed, I knew there was another MK2 in Gulf colours, and don't take this the wrong way, I'm sure you wont, but I wanted to do it too without being told I was copying! How come the old one is being broken then? It looks allright. and I love the exhaust outlet, I'm exiting behind the rear left wheel.

not yet daz... Gary's working on Retro_Al's mk1 mexico at the moment

Andy - the old one isn't being broken mate it's just stepped it up a bit with a custom cage, bulkhead move riiiight back (as in the whole engine is behind the front legs), flat floor, venturi... I could go on.... check out threads about DW's XXX pack on turbosport if you want to know what I mean... it's well worth a look!

i have to say that the guy at retro is a fookin fabricating legend, i do a bit myself and know how hard it its, every credit to the guy, your work is 10 times better than mine - must look you up in th efuture for rally shell preparation - when i need a new one !
