gonna take a few pics later and do an update.. nto really changed much and it doesn't look as good as it did when it left Gary's cos i've pulled it all apart again but it's all in aid of prepping for the paint!

small update... although it looks like i've done almost nothing I've actually been drilling holes and trial mounting things all over the car, (only got pics of some brake line, resevoirs and fire extinguisher i'm afraid) then had to remount the axle, wings, arches etc for it to be taken for paint last night. Big thanks to Dave White, Andy Pipe and andy's brother for yet again providing the trailer to shift the car!
anyway, here's come pics....
as you can see, still missing a passenger door (should be sorting it this weekend) and a bootlid, which is somewhere in the post from PLR along with pins to fix the rear of the monnet and the boot.

not really got any updates i'm afraid.. its still at the painters. It's been taking a while as i'ts been hard to find one or 2 last bits needed.. should look a little like this when done... you'll have to imagine it with the front spoiler on though..
]
I have managed to pick up another 3 sets of split rims with various inners and outers for it too... last count i can go for anything from 7" wide (too narrow) up to 14" wide (which, sadly is too wide unless i take it back to retromotorsport and get the rear chassis legs moved in.... maybe next year )
should have some proper piccies of it in the new "screaming yellow" paint soon

thanks guys.
Lennie - all good mate.. yeah, got a saff now.. engine out for a rebuild at the end og the month swiftly followed by a bit more power.
due to what i'll describe as "marital problems" progress has been slow but it's all looking like it's back on track now apart from a really shitty quality bootlid! gonna speak to the painters today and see what the deal is..

will do mate.
having spoken to andy the painter, it turns out the bootlid from fibresports (via PLR) is not only shit, it doesn't fit properly and really isnt' worth using.. .waste of 75 quid then.
Gonna order a kevlar/carbon one off of X-sport today as a friend has had stuff off of John before and it was good quality.
Good news on other fronts though.. the interior's painted and all the rest is in primer so once the boot's there and the door hinges arrive (last lot were lost in the post) they'll roll it over, do the underneath and then onto the exterior.. hopefully be back with me in a couple of weeks or so

AL - you'll have to let me know how it looks mate! see if you can get some pics! I'm trying to get a day off for a visit but work are proving uncooperative at the moment.

small update... painting has begun in earnest...
The interior is finished.. (no, it's not primer, and yes, it will be staying grey) althoguht he photos don't really give an accurate idea of the colour, and the Ford screaming yellow (i kid you not.. that's what the paint's called) has just started to go on too.. well pleased with the colours. Hopefully in the next week or 2 the underneath and exterior will be done all in the yellow so then it's just the stripes to go

This is gonna be a very, very cool car when finished, hopefully will go as good as it will look in those colours
I must say though that welding on parts of the early fabrication is really not too good at all!

Cheers Radders
pete - all fabrication was done by Gary at retromotorsport (retromotorsport is his username on here) in Harlow,
and Dan, I'm not sure exactly what bits you're referring to mate but as far as I'm concerned (and anyone else who's seen the car in the flesh) it's all top notch! As far as going as good as it looks is concerned we'll have to see... it'll be the zetec on carbs initially but i have some other plans in the pipeline!

love that car... i've got a few pics of it myself, but it has monte arches on it, not zakspeed. Plus I wanted to do something a little different with mine I'd quite happile kill someone for those wheels though.

The workmanship on this car is truly awesome - Gary obviously takes great pride and care in his work and is a real credit to this obsession we all share. A Big, Big well done to that man.
This car is going to be another monster along side Al's.
