Greedy dealers trying to cash in. No way either of those two cars are worth that much, and even so, who'd pay Ł5k more for the white one with twice as many miles on it?

I cant help but think it would be better money spread across a few motors which is what the new owner has sold to buy this (Sls AMG, Ferrari 575m, Ferrari 430, Cayenne and a m135i). But he will still have a good few, more special cars left.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
The circle of friends you have are living in a different world to the majority of people that I know!! I wonder though if the cars they have mean that much to them when they can afford what ever they want and can change them as often as they like?

dealers seem to have really jumped on the rs bandwagon this last 12-18 months some of the asking prices are mental, they never seem to sell though as far as i can see ( or if they do its not for anywhere near asking price)

As Glenn has said the days of ordinary working class people being able to get into Cossy ownership is becoming a thing of the past.
The ex BTCC RS500 that recently sold for Ł182K is a good example!!

I actually think the same, the blue annodised locking nuts look really cheap IMO, black would be much more subtle but if you go changing things you need to keep the originals for spares due to "originality" issues.
He has the old suspension but this is on a special set of KW specced by Manthey Racing who are near the 'ring and they have the lifting kits on them for the speed bumps and getting it on to trailers etc.

I was really suprised at Classic Ford when talking to people who were looking at my Saff by what they thought it would be worth if I sold it. One guy said Ł45-50k!! Other people who asked about Insurance and agreed value thought my Ł23k was way to low a figure. This is why dealers are jacking up the prices so much as they think that is what people will pay!

Some Tsw's are nice though, but halfrauds and ripspeed really cheapened the appeal of them.
As above the price of sapphires and cossies has priced 99% of people out of the market. I am still on the fence about getting a mk3/4 (I don't mind if its genuine rst or not) and taking it over the America to the wife's. The spares availability is holding me back a bit. Saw a LHD mk4 bonus for reasonable money in Germany which is tempting.

I really dont understand where these values are coming from and people have strange ideas on how to value cars as well . Me I am oldskool imo the more original the car sits with all its original parts and body work id say its worth more than a modern restored car as it retains originality

I don't mind some TSW wheels, they suited the period when they was in most magazines. Venom's was good till you used to see most down southend kurbed to high hell and missing big chunks.
