currently offered for sale is this m sport built (number 0001) escort cosworth wrc, offered as a complete rolling car without engine gearbox and diffs, this is one of 2 right hand drive genuine m sport cars ever built.it has all the corrcect wrc parts reiger suspension,365mm ap racing 6 pot brakes, 315mm 4 pots on rear, steel crossmember,bladed antiroll bars, works carbon tank / extinguishers, gems dash, mag peddle box etc etc. a unique opportunity to own a piece of rally history.
this car was originally built for the boland family in ireland but more recently has been used by hugh hunter and tommy feild n3mwm


Any body know the car, sure would be a great one to own if you have the money, real piece of motoring history.

I've been told this is #001 Reg N3 MWM , is it the real 001?? As I spoke to a chap in Switzerland couple weeks ago, who states he Owens the real 001,

I say this because I was offered to go halfs in it, before this add was done,

My question is it the real thing 001

I know the full history of that shell if it was yellow & previously owned by graham butler ?

 

It was yellow, fields old car plus others hunter,Fleming, I do have pics on my phone but carnt put on here

 

Hi pm me if you want i have pics when it was originally yellow after tommy sold it, complete minus engine & xtrac box & diffs basically trimmed rolling shell i have pics of 00001 wrc stamped into shell & also i dealt with & spoke to graham butler over the years who bought it & for some reason had it converted to LHD from RHD which i didn't get as it was 1 of only 2 RHD m sport cars built

 

did it have the big front diff in when it was rhd ricko?

yes it ran X trac 6 speed sequential box, 8.5" mag front diff & 9" mag rear diff
it is very difficult to run 8.5" active front diff to rhd hence only a handful have been done 👍

 

The real 001 shell was built a lot earlier than this car...by Gordon Vincent and not MSport....RHD Esc Cos is a waste of time to be honest....no provenance at all....a LHD drive would be worth more money ultimately after refurbishing it....Graham & RED probably know more about the Esc WRC game than anyone else nowadays!
