Peugeot 205 with 4wd cosworth engine and running gear.
Weighed the old heater box versus the new 6.5kg vs 1.8kg.
I weighed the bags of carpet, underlay and dynamat coming out plus a couple of chunky bits of trim and the recent redundant wiring that are not going back in and that was 30kg.....
I will continue to weigh what isn't going back in

Here is how it comes. The centre holds a battery but it can be hard wired
You can change the button fronts to anything you like and each button is programmable

Hi Ian, I was thinking about you today and meant to text you, I hope you are doing well...any updates on your car?
I am hoping the car will be great as I have invested a lot, when I bought it I was going to buy a Ferrari 355 spider, I would have bought at Ł45k, they are Ł100k. I have grown to really love the 205 and it was my dream car when I was 18. I cannot wait to drive it with the full Wrc cage, cradle and 2.2 stroker...should be bonkers. Especially as I think it will be bang on 1000kg.

The car is now a bare shell, all soundproofing finally gone after 3 full days of getting it all out, the car will easily be 80kg lighter than before even when the new t45 cage is back in. I ave weighed and listed everything so will keep a note of it all. I have about 30 small holes to mig up as the car was used for sound offs years ago and all those little self tappers have taken their toll.
I was amazed that over 1kg of bolts came out of the interior and trim. The main hoop of the bolt in cage was 12kg with another 10kg of extra bars.

Yes, he is probably collecting the car this weekend coming...It will do my head in being way as it is my hobby but it will come back a better car and ready to handle the new power of the new engine.
Toys arrived so I can start to plan out the buttons and have ordered a modular fuse box to make the relays and loom work, the “race” button is actually the anti lag until I get the custom badge made up
Car is going away on Sat and my engine arrives then too.
Hi, it came to around Ł1200 including the box on the left but just the bit on the right with the buttons for the wheel was Ł570 and that includes the black box with the solid state relays in there (above the bit that goes on the wheel). Summit Technologies has it all on his site and did me a good deal on both bits:

More holes than Swiss cheese
Mark Ian going to make me a new fuel cell, this sump will poke through the bottom of the floor to fill the fuel pump(s)
Not a lot left of the car now
Years of modifications, sound offs and different choices of different owners have taken their toll so it will all be refreshed one way or another
been a while since I caught up with this, whats the history with the cars previous owners, sound off's etc or max power fanclub?
Whats the poster of behind the pug, looks like an album art cover type?
Glad to see things are coming together for this project toby, not tempted by full space frame etc for ease of access and weight saving?

The car then went to another guy who lost his licence in it racing a motorbike and the a guy up the road bought it called Matt and he had it for years doing a few shows like Pugfest where it has been on the main club stand a few times...then I got it.
The art on the wall is an original painting on a type of hardboard, I have 3 of them in the garage, they are nothing special but one was done for my 21st birthday as a present by the artist (I am now 44) and the other 2 were done for her A level art course and her flat wasn't big enough when she left home so she asked me to look after them.
Mark Walker is travelling down to get the car and we will spend a few hours going over the shell to see what is possible, we have discussed a front space frame although this may be a step too far for me. It is getting a new tunnel but may get new floor throughout. It is having large rear turrets for the Wrc mounts and the front will be done to suit and Mark has a few ideas to improve the handling.
I am also having the Ackerman checked as the steering arms are based on the escort Wrc wheel base and as my car is 22cm shorter I suspect it is trying to drag a rear wheel but this may be able to be corrected.
Normally my ramps drop faster with a car on than when empty, the bare shell and rear beam is all that is left and it is as slow to drop as empty.
I will weigh it properly when it is all built back up.

I felt quite emmotional LOL as it left, there is nothing left of it.
At least it was super light to push up to the trailer. Big Thanks to Mark Walker and his lovely Wife, Katie, for travelling 5 hours to come on Sunday and discuss everything needed and then do the whole journey again withthe car today.

Hi, Realistically I think it will be 3 months away now as the list I gave Mark snowballed from a simple cage and the rear cradle that would have taken 3 weeks but Mark has 2 other Welders and fabricators to help out now so it MAY be quicker and if the final quote it too much I may have to reign in some of the jobs.
I then need to do a dry build up to make sure everything does what I need before total strip again and then going off for paint which will be engine bay, interior and probably underside too.
So if we assume a few weeks to build and strip (working Friday, Sat and Sun on it) probably the odd holiday then paint time I am thinking it will be 5 months or more before Mark can map the final car and do the final suspension setup.

I will be updating the thread with progress updates and then hope I do not have to spend too long on the rebuild as I want to be driving it in 2018! In the mean time I have got all the wiring to sort out and get the engine how I want it.
