I am a bit worried that my front quaifes cwp is going to look like that one. Do you have to adapt the front crossmember and or big wing sump if you go FFD or other?
I agree with smiley though to agree the diff spec before finishing the beam. My supra diff was a dream to fit in the modded 6 degree but was a pain when I had just the fitting kit on the old beam.
i know what you mean not the best at dispatching happy to take full payment tho
Hi
Thats great if the places you get your parts from
Can afford to make your parts and send them then you pay
When you want but i cant afford to do that sorry
Everything i order i have to pay for in full before it
Is sent so your lucky👍
Dropped my diff out today so thought I would take a few pics to show the supra diff mod. You can still run the standard diff too. The black smudge is cv grease that has flung off as I put a bit much in.
The solid mounts are loose here as I had to drop the beam a bit to get to the top bolts on the diff. Top Tip as Ed China would say ...fit the supra diff
Before lifting up the beam.
Drive shafts out. Anyone know the best place to buy new drive shaft bolts?

Mark Will remove the beam for smiley to collect and take out my drive shaft hubs to sleeve for the bigger bearings like the front ones.
If you look under my rear shock mount you can see the bladed arb addition that allows the drop links to attach. In the top pic you can make out the bar for the arb just behind the diff mount, Mark had to make me a special short one to fit between the chassis rails.
Second pic you can see the roll bar mounts in grey and the black blade which is turned to full soft in the pic, it doesn't normally sit that high, I just pushed it up out of the way.

The supra diff mod to the beam will run both supra and Cossie then
Worth doing to keep options open
How much was the supra diff from Bara
Did they alter all the shaft flanges etc

Yes, I think it is a worthwhile upgrade so you can decide later.
The diffs vary in price massively depending on condition and what they need, mine needed bearings and I added the weir kit and replaced pretty much everything, the diff was about 1000 all in but I bought the donor from MK. Others had theirs done for much less as they didn't need as much work. You need the correct ratio too, mine is a 3.9 from a non turbo supra.
MK did the drive shaft adapters for the flanges, you need one on the input to the diff too.
I also added the billet alloy hubs with new bearings, MK did those too and they are much lighter.

Mmmmm got me thinking now
Does the beam require anything additional for the supra diff to be fitted
You recommend the non turbo diff
Are they from the mk1 or mk2 supra or they both the same
It will handle the 500 bhp I’m after
Ive seen a few 2wd's opting for the 3.7 ratio not sure if aj's is? You would need drop gears fitting in your box so they match i think if going 3.9 jay on here said xr4x4 front diff ratio is 3.9 but he wouldnt sell me his cwp lol
Mine has solid beam mounts polly diff hanger Mk fitting kit Mk beam and an mt rear cover. My diff is the ones that’s closest to the Sierra ratio I think it’s from a turbo supra? Has the weir kit in it as well
One thing I will change on mine once the engine is in is the diff hanger. I’ll mod it so the bolts go right through the floor and bolt to the rear strut brace that I’ll have triangulated to bolt to the floor. A mate of mine who abuses the Fook out of his has ripped the hanger out the floor twice lol
I think turbo mk 2 supra was 3.7? And non turbo mk2 is 3.9, I have 3.9 in the front with quaife diff and no drop gears so 1:1 in my oppliger box...all done by Bara. Bara warned me that the 3.9 cwp in the front diff is the weak link in my drive train.
Yes, as long as you have the MT or MK diff cover when used in the cossie as the standard covers have been broken. Not sure if there are any covers around anymore, mK was designing a new one with a window to see the gears I think....I would swap to that if he does.
There are loads of supra diffs in Cossies, Coley has one in his track focus WRC stylee. Does MK Mark Kinsey run one on his fiesta? I think Brammer has one too....
I guess it depends if you can wheel spin away the torque, a good lsd is so much better than an original if the original is tired and lost a lot of its locking. Many people do break boxes but some do rolling burnouts and big launches. Rod went over to tremec as the t5 wasn't up to his monster power (with jag diff)
My 4x4 box was really low miles but it died after only 250 miles with over 400lbft (it actually has near 500 but Mark Shead gave it back to me on low boost only and said to get a new box on order, (I think he killed it mapping 468.1bhp lol). It broke very quickly.
Do in general if your careful box will be upto the job
I think the car even with the beam will light up the tyres
215x40x17
There road tyres as well not sticky semi slicks
Yeah, should be fine, mine with 468 was able to spin up the 4 wheels in the damp in 4wd, when I had a skyline box I could run in 2 wd and spin in 4th on 195 road tyres but my 205 is quite light and that was before the 6 degree.
Well took a drive upto Grimsby today to drop my beam off at MK MOTORSPORT
What a sound guy Mark is very knowledgeable
Showed me some of his work VERY VERY GOOD
So I’ve gone with
6 deg beam
Beam welded to take supra diff
Diff cover
Solid diff mounts
Prop and drive shaft spacers
And a supra diff
Will post up some pictures next week when I collect
Can’t wait
Yes his place is brilliant
And his advise is spot on
I will always use MK from now on TBH
He’s even supplied the supra diff and giving it a once over
He did mention your cradle that he’s doing
They look a work of art.
Just got back from Mk Motorsport collecting my beam
Great turn around all work done in a week
VERY happy with Marks work
Just got to get the cover in a couple of weeks
