Thanks for the comments, went with original cossie bumper after a lot of messing about and deciding I wanted a bit more of a factory look, so it's nice to see you've noticed that about it. Painted it white because I plan on stickering it up and that's always the best base to work from IMO, however I like it plain at the moment so might just leave it that way, long way off being on the road so plenty time to mess with it.
Started on the wiring today as well as other random bits like seat belts etc, just bolting on as much things as possible in what seems like the most logical order then I'll tackle the mechanicals.
Love it. This was the car that got me in to Fords. I always wanted to build a Saph with the Escos arches but 'standard' front bumper. I always liked it in Imperial Blue but the white works well.
Not updated this in a while so thought I'd post a v.quick couple of pics.
Comments appreciated guys, takes a lot of time and effort to get it right especially starting from scratch with what was a bare shell that didn't come with many bits at all, so I've had to source 95% of the bits.
That looks good, any chance you could take moulds of the front wings and rear end so we can have fibre glass copies made here in the UK? Pleeeeeeeeease?
Still progressing with bits and pieces, turned it around so I can start doing some proper work on the front end. PM me about arch moulds if you like, you'd have to arrange it though but I'd agree to supply the car.
Black strip being left alone, it's a genuine rouse part so I don't want to mess with tbh, but I see your point.
I would love to mold the panels but you are a bit far away lol and dare I ask why have you got a nacked man in your garage ?
The mannequin seems to have more attention than the car! It's my mates, he's got his own bike business and uses it for displays, that's what he tells me anyway.....
Might sort that strip, just tons of other stuff to be getting on with right now to get it more completed. Need the boot lock, it's the only lock on the car now and I don't trust doing away with it in case I got locked out, only reason it's still there really.
Update but no real update, sorry!
Short version is that car will be completed but something else has come up in the short term so I’m now working on that instead and will get back to the cossie when that car is done.
On a plus side the cossie fund is looking healthy so barring any major disasters there shouldn’t be be any hold ups in the progress during 2018.
Decided to get back to it today, had to move garages so the car is now in a different unit, on the plus side I have a lot more space to work.
Basic job today was fit the brand new boot lock, I’ve been looking for one of these for ages, scouring the internet and nothing, then lots all seem to come up at once. Was a big bonus to get this part as it’s the last external piece I needed.
After that I had a good going over it since I haven’t really done any work on the car since September so needed to remind myself what needs doing next, then jacked the front up in preparation for removing the front suspension. Hopefully get that done tomorrow relatively quickly.
Not updated this for ages but thought Id post this pic, finally installed the rear beam/diff etc at the weekend and now its properly sitting on 4 wheels again for the first time in 10 years
