Would love to see an update on this. This was THE car that got me into Ford's back in the day - I think I still have that copy of Revs somewhere. Sad to see you didn't go with the Lotus Carlton front bumper: I thought that was it's most striking feature, with the arches and EsCos skirts a subtle but important second. I also loved the blue, but I totally get wanting to paint it a different colour.

Some recent updated photos, still isn’t finished but it runs and drives now, seem to have an issue with the ABS loom/light and still need to properly plumb in the brake lines and work out a couple of other issues with boost and so on, but it’s complete as far as parts go. Bought another project (pic at bottom) which I’ve been busy with tbh, so the Sierra hasn’t had much attention of late.

Inside of van, kept it pretty basic but has a fold out double bed so I can still get stuff in the back and use it as a van and get bikes etc in, 240v and also a battery for the lights and so on. The captains chairs swivel 360 degrees.
Anyway, getting back to the thread…. Car is basically finished now, pretty sure I’ve said this on here a while ago but after what it’s had done in the last few months I’m more confident saying that this time Due to work and some other life things getting in the way the car sat idle and I couldn’t really sell it as it was or drive it, so after a while I took the decision to ship the car down to Tony@Turbosystems for some small bits that needed finishing and checking over, that basically turned into almost another complete rebuild. When it left me it pretty much went to him for brakes lines needing fitted and the abs fixing plus some other small checks and setting up, but that quickly turned into a a huge job for him when he discovered something wrong with the crank (the engine had allegedly only done about 5-10miles before I bought it) he said it was badly built, assembled wrong, lots of contamination and the crank was a piece of scrap that shouldn’t have been used when it was replaced during the last “rebuild”, so sourced a replacement, then after a compression test it was discovered that the head was leaking through the exhaust valves so that had to be stripped, also the rings turned out to be original, so the rebuild before this was a complete shitshow in pretty much every sense. The good thing was that the head and block were in really good condition so that was at least something to be thankful for. He removed the prop and rebuilt that, sorted some issues with the box, replaced the clutch and balanced the clutch/flywheel, sorted out issues with the wheel bearings, exhaust, suspension and driveshafts, as well as diagnosing the ABS fault which turned out to be the module and the pressure switch needing replaced. As it sits today there is a question over the front geometry that needs addressed, but apart from that it runs and drives although he still has the car so I haven’t had the pleasure of doing anything with it yet, but I’m sure that’s not too far away.
