Plan is to drop the rs gearbox and engine into my kit car, which currently has the 2.0 zetec blacktop+ IB5 gearbox

Nearly done a deal on the rs focus mk1 engine.

Needed to know if the mk1 rs focus engine has the same mounting points as the 2.0 zetec blacktop engine. and if the focus rs gearbox will have the same mounting points as my current IB5 gearbox.

fwd and rwd engines, whats the difference. if any.

thanks just spoke to a mate in a tuning garage, its the same engine turned around. has teh same engine mount points. gear box mounts are different on the IB5 and Focus RS and thats now my hurdle, hate to start to chop the kit car chassis to make the MT75 fit.

 

Focus RS mounts on the gearbox side using a large ally bracket bolted to the top of the box. The bracket has a large threaded bolt on the top that goes through the mount, which in turn is mounted to the bracket that would normally support the charge cooler
You can see it on the right in this pic, although this one will have an A2A intercooler instead of the standard chargecooler.

 

It’s the same engine mount. You can use what ever is in the rocket.

The engine is oriantated exactly the same as every Focus.

If you have the classic rocket then ib5, mtx75 and the Getrag 6 speed have all been fitted.

Gearbox mounts are differant but they mount to the same place in the Focus.

 

you could get some custom mounts off gary [crazycage]

i bought the 3 i needed off him £195 one engine and 2 gearbox .im sure these would be modded to weld to your chassis easier than trying to use the ford mount
