I also finally got the controlla for the cab to where I'm happy with them, as in instructions they were set up very weird.

 

I keep upsetting Lego purists on Facebook by painting Lego pieces chrome

 

Is this the model which is also a race car or a V8 dodge or something like that? If so I have that for my other half but shes built the main model...time to rip it down and build the hot rod me thinks!

Could I pick your brain a moment...where did you get the supercharger from and the chrome spray?

I was REALLY into Lego when I was young but I want to get back into it so just ordered 3 new models to build! But me being me, I want to customise them a little so would like to know where to buy such 'hop up' parts so to speak

It is mate yeh, the super charger is just a Lego M motor I mounted on the engine, the chrome effect spray I just order from eBay at the cheapest I can find at the time lol

I'm just about to start stripping down this model and remake with more mods as I need a good 1;10 car for my truck trailer. I'll keep you updated on it bud.

Ive gone for the fake stuff, judging by your reports, theres no point buying the real stuff just yet lol!

How do you make things motorised? I'm really interested in the pneumatic and motorized side of things as back when I was a kid, it was all manual and you had to push things along while making engine noises

 

Good sets you've picked to start again wirh man, I've got the van in Lego and the race truck in Lepin enjoyed them both.

The instructions for the big lorry I'm building are made by a bloke named Lucio and if you youtube Lucio Tractor Truck itll also have links to where you can buy instructions. IMO don't entertains any thoughts of building it lol not untill you have a rediculous amount of spare parts. As to start from scratch it'd cost you thousands in parts man it is absolutly rediculous and I couldn't even guess how many I've used, I will try and find out

The power and pneumatic functions you'll get your head around the more you build again some are simple and some are very complicated.

I can imagine the costs are going to be astronomical...maybe in a few years time or something...but I think ill get a copy of those instructions and then take it from there...worst case I have bought a book for a tenner or there abouts lol!

Ill put up some pics once everything start turning up...for now, I'm sat like a big kid at Christmas for some new wheels, seats, speedo etc to turn up!

 

Exactly what I did mate, downloaded instructions for the lorry 18 months ago and when I saw what was needed I left it lol

I was in love with the design and what I knew Incould donto it though so was determined to make it, you have to be to make it lol

If I was more clever on PC's I'd share the instructions with you, but don't know how to?

1.8m long....geez! That's some going! Now what you need to do is get that transport vehicle loaded up with the camper van, Caterham and mini, load that onto the BIG trailer, and see what else can fit lol!

On a side note, my first kit turned up yesterday! Really impressed with the timing! Only ordered it last week and its here already! So now I'm part way to building this

I have an old truck as well...proper Lego/Technics one before they changed their look...used to have a trailer to, but I dismantled that and used the bits to modify the truck itself...must get some pics of that...it was a kool project that I did around 15 years ago and its still built today...I hope!

The Jag install...don't worry, that can soon be sorted out lol

Got more done on my race truck as well...only another few pages left and its complete...but my camper van turned up today so got the next project lined up and ready to build...

Next on the order is the Mini after the last truck turns up...but ill have to buy 2 as I have recently found out you can make one in to a Mk1 Golf Convertible :O!!!

 

porches look tiny compared to it... looks like you're gonna need another showcase just for it, lol

Added some head lights today and got servo's working on rear wheel steering

 

The mk1 Golf sounds interesting matey. The lights look well.

You will have to put marker lights down the side of the trailer.

The GTi is cool, you can also make the mini into a truck cab, a cobra and a Jag iirc

The big truck has kind of ruined me for smaller models now, once you start to build the massive stuff smaller ones don't seem as interesting but also its harder to afford to build the bigger items all the time.

This is the next one I'd like but going to be saving a while for it.

Fitted a 2nd set of head lamps tonight, 1st were Lepin and fitted great! These were Lego and fit crap lol fall out and wont hold on tight.

 

Ive just bought my first 3 kits from there...not had any issues, all 3 sets were meant to turn up between 4-6 weeks, but they all arrived within 2...my last one turned up 2 days ago...wont start building the last 2 for another 2 weeks yet though

So far my experiences have been great with AliExpress...haven't been hit with any import duties or anything....im not sure if Kev has?

I think its 8 wheel drive and 8 wheel steer but I haven't got it yet, cannt afford it for a while yet.

What value are you buying up to? See that under £15 there is no chages anyway but over £130 there can be tax plus duty added.

 

The sells always mark packages worth less or as gifts as they want to make sure you get it or they don't get their money.

 

Initial order was £70ish, but was sent in 3 separate pacakages/deliveries..I have been stung with customs before, just not via AliExpress...yet!

 

Great builds! Where did you get the car transporter? I have not seen that one.
