what i found was that the bit i was missing i'd actually used in another part of the model
the bit i was missing was the one across the top of the cab and i'd used the longer bit earlier on in the build
my kids are going to be making the hiab truck from christmas morning so i'm sure they'll make plenty of mistakes

What one would you advise to buy first, I have a smaller one under the tree 4x4 pick up and I like the skip Lorry aswell...
I don't think I can wait though and I like the Merc truck. Is the crane a better build though? I like the flatbed on eBay too.

Skip lorry is fairly easy
The others in the pic are challenging for various reasons but the red crane truck is probably the "easiest"

Have you looked at the crawler crane yet Kev?
I'm thinking of starting that next but I think it's going to be very tall and hard to store in the house.

I like the way the tracks are on the smaller dozer compared to the motorised 1 I just built, looks more realistic, pity that's not motorised too.
Spent a fortune on my saph this month so nothing spare for the truck but on the upside I now have all the bits I have been searching for so I get to put that back together which will be as much fun!

Both designs are built as real machines though. The one you built looks more like a Komatsu as an example where as the one Dojj posted looks like the Cat version with high lift tracks which is probably more commonly seen in this country.
I'll put my sad digger driver mind back in it's box now,it's meant to be on holiday anyway
