Cheers mate. Was gutted when the bell end crashed my 309, rebuilt it and then going down my mums road 2 weeks later on a really hot sunny day some tit pulled out a side road (said sun was in his eyes) and the tarmac was like an ice rink, didn't even leave skid marks! That was the end of that, think it was cursed done quite a bit with the Astra gte and then lost my licence for 3 months and sold it

That Orion looks exactly like the one my mate had same wheels and everything. Had a few of the mk3 escort shape orions and loved them.

 

This was my first car back in 1994, and it's the only pic I have of it on my pc, got loads of real pictures but no scanner.

Mk2 XR2, loved it to bits, owned it for close to 7 years before I stuck a 1.6D in it and sold it on to a guy who used it to teach his mrs to drive.

By the time it left my ownership I think only the fuel tank and rear beam were original, i had either upgraded or replaced due to rot everything

Mate I love that Astra gte. The escort cab looks like it's down Bournemouth/boscombe seafront

 

I remember my mate fitting 15" tsw Imolas to his mk2 xr2 and they looked massive lol. Used to rub the rear arches with anyone in the back

 

My Orion I owned during the 90s, loved that car and the sunroof!



Worth a mention, my Mum's Escort which we owned thru 80s, 90s and most of the 00s.

1-pd's rs1600i - Always wanted one, best colour as well. Closest I got was a mk3 caspian blue xr3 that I sold to a mate then his g/f my soon to be future ex smashed up. I remember stripping bits off it in rush green in herts.




Caddyshack - The m3 and 911 look very nice, they'd be worth loads now.

I didn't start driving till 1999ish unfortunately but had loads of 80/90's cars.

rs turbo convertible - literally drove it home, did around 5 miles then took it to pts in luton. Ended up driving it home and my ex hated it so sold it for 300 quid to a mate who I think ended up stripping it or removing the engine and putting it in something else, can't remember.



One car I miss loads, just an xr3i but I got given it and had loads of fun with it, never did drive in a straight line, something wasn't right with the chassis. Really wish I could get it back again

And this shed that I bought, drove it home and did a couple of trips around in it before the clutch finally gave out. The floor was rotten, engine didn't run 100% but was a turbo technics.

 

the GTE was a champion edition that was repainted blue for the first owner as his daughter didn't like the burgundy colour they came in!!

I spent most of 1996/97/98/99 down Bmth and boscombe seafront most evenings.

 

its a shame what with the scrappage scheme and people selling/upgrading/smashing up the cars that most of these now will begone

Love seeing these old pics, keep them coming! I as born in '91 so most of them are a bit before my time in a way (well too young to be driving but I was already reading car mags)

 

My first car from 87 on the road till mid 90s, still got it in my lock up waiting for some tlc and the 1340 big valve head with lumpy cam that's sat in front of it or a v-tec conversion

Styling will be different i hasten to add !!

Just need to get the proper garage built the architect came round to do the drawings for last night

 

Wow that's amazing u still have it after all that time Mate!

 

Yup,i put it down to the a-series gaskets being so poor the oil leaks have created an anti corrosion system underneath

Had it 30yrs now ....blimey !!

What car is that mate? Looks like ford wheels so I'm getting mk1 fiesta but looks like it's had a love child with a Talbot sunbeam. Looks cool whatever it is

 

It's a sunbeam mate but cannot remember much about it's as it was so long ago.

 

they did a lotus sunbeam a quick car in its day and rear wheel drive, they always had a wide stripe down the side with lotus badge on the wing, black with silver stripe floats my boat.

 

I really like the look of it mate and their rwd as well aren't they?

 

these were quick and gave mk2 escort a run for there money and even went rallying, shame the were rot boxes

 

yes mate it was rwd and had twin carbs but thats all i can remember
