Default 1990s car pics

Does anyone have any pics of there cars from the 1990s? This was the era (1996 on) that I got mad into cars and started my apprenticeship in a garage, love seeing old photos of people's cars and the mods they did on them at the time. I didn't have a camera in those days so don't have any of mine unfortunately

My first motor, I didn't care that it was a grandad mobile, as it was much quicker than my mates ax's, novas and mk2 fiestas, had electric everything and was cheaper to insure!

Sure, all the pics are late 90s, here is my first car - 1.4S with an XR2 kit and pepperpots added.

Then I got the van buggered about with it a bit, Orion interior, stupid big 15in subs and 1.9gti wheels. Was a bit rough...

Had the van broken into so got the shits with it and wanted to be a bit more descrete. My Dad wanted rid of his Sierra so I had it off him. He ended up buying it back off me 6 months later.

And my first proper quick car, the mighty R5 GTT - got this one when I was 18.

Actually didn't keep them on that long as I lowered it and they kept rubbing. They were pretty cool though

I had an ax gt that had been prepped for some sort of junior rally that never got finished. We lashed it up and took it to the local massive gravel/mud ground about an acre of land and thrashed it untill it blew. Was awesome fun but shudder to think how much it would be worth now

I had an ax gt5 before the black one. I love them and was looking at buying another one last year but bought a 106 gti instead.

Don't know if this counts as it's a 1979, but I had it in the 1990's
Had to sell it to get the money together for a house

Was into this type of stuff in the 80's/90's. Had several Lotus including a ex Jerry Marshall modified Éclat 520 Sprint that was quick back then. The Peugeot was my race around car & was the car I owned before my Cossie. Very rare it was a TT Supercharged 1.9 205. I see in the background of the Lotus my Daily looks like a Honda Accord.

Went many back then, remember clocking 30k miles one year doing shows, cruises...
Did Crewe, Hanley, Stockport, Blackpool, Southport, etc etc with Cruise Northwest, it was all word of mouth back then... I was earning Ł400 a week back then living at home
Used to chuck some good flames out of the back flicking the ignition on and off at 30mph in 2nd gear...

I just spent my wages on my car modifying, insurance was Ł1600 Tpft back then, fuel
Driving is all I wanted to do when growing up, at 15 I owned 3 cars... at 17 sold 2 Sierra estates on and concentrated on my first Orion...
Met the misses at a Stockport cruise back in 2001... unbelievably we lived less than a mile away from each other in sunny Crewe
16 years on we're married, house, littlen
Did take 12 years for us to get married didn't wanna rush

No satnav
Internet was just starting off really with odd car sites here and there...

Now nobody can do without it

I remember doing my first car show at Margam Park which was a 400 mile round trip with just a map... didn't even have a mobile phone

That red Orion is almost a spitting image of my mates red one at the time. Only difference is he had tsw Imolas but same back bumper and twin dtm backbox. I fookin loved the 90s life seemed so simpler even then. I was the same, all I wanted to do was drive, drive and more driving. I was never indoors ever! Now I love being indoors lol.

And then my Peugeot 309 gti that some twat head mot tester crashed when he was bringing in for mot (before I had my mot licence)

Was my pride and joy the 309. Bought the Astra as it's replacement while I rebuilt the 309.
