Escort turbo build
Hi guys I haven't built a car for a while so here is my new build. I brought a non runner rs turbo which had been reshelled in to a bonus shell! It looks ok but not correct sunroof and needs paint . It turned out the fuel pump relay had dropped out of its holder so was a easy fix to get it running
Not happy with this bonus shell so I went out a got a genuine rs turbo rolling shell with all new panels and paint ! Good start to a build as no massive welding project to do thank god lol

It belongs to my mate. I’m doing the resto work on it for him. It was in a bad way but glad to say we are saving it👍🏻 It’s had some shocking welding repair in the past.

I know it sounds daft, but i'm really pleased it's still alive and getting looked after i'v been looking for it for ages years in fact I bought it back in 2004 and sold it 2011, I took it to a garage in Torquay for the last MOT I gave it and it did have quite a bit of welding, there was no way to keep it out of the elements I didn't have a garage. I think if i remember this RS was made in Germany and not in Spain (when they left all the shells out side to rot) apparently so I would have though it would have been better. I worried that it was in some scrapyard somewhere. I put the 90 spec front bumper and rear spoiler on when I was working at EXWAY Coachworks and I know some people may not like the fact that I changed it, but I think it shows the car off more, it just looks better. Is it ok to keep updating the progress on here with photos now and again as I'd love to see how it's getting on. it's strange how some memory's never disappear.
