Why would you fit parts that are not subject to Fords development programme to such an important part of your car. The standard item is used on mine & has been replaced once in 21 years.

I don't have this product but TBH I wouldn't want a replacement that they're offering, i'd be worried this happened again. I'm with Rod on this one, especially since the aftermarket version is proven to be inferior.

I've taken the old one to a machinist mate of mine he's going to make me one out of steel.
So i'd just like a refund from concept racing to be fair.

Right done some research (thanks 2 dan@ Rapid ford) there is a bush that is simular off of a land rover 90 defender it goes on the end of the column before the steering box. Does anyone know anymore been scrapping through the internet and cum up blank..
Landrover are more than useless.

Superflex sell this type of item as well.
Similar price, and i've not hear any issues wiith theirs.

Slightly worrying what is happening to the above ones, especially if you were doing 100 mph

i've got a 4x4 and at the top of the intermediate steering shaft there's a rubber bush inside a sleeve where the top joint attatches to the shaft. that went on mine, really bad play in the steering wheel,my mech said he wouldn't even drive it in that condition. got it replaced now, absolute joy to drive again

So this is what they look like when they break...
Parked up in halfords and bang 4inches of play in my steering.
limped it back to my friends and took it apart and try to use a suzuki Sj bush but it was just to big.
One phone call to a good friend JoeRS and he lent me one off a car he was breaking. Fitted that and alls good, while it was in the air i found a Bmw E46 steering column and cut it up and guess what!!! The bush is the same as the Orignal ford one happy days.
Now my mate is cutting me up some inserts and we should be as good as new will ad pics when it comes back from Track designs....

I have just ripped another one of these shitty bushes, when is this concept racing con man going to sort us out? Am I going to have to spend another Ł30 on a different bush from burton's. Well pissed off at the moment!

Tabetha, you've gone quite about this matter. Do you know something we don't? Is there any intention of concept racing supplying an improved design?

or drove into an oncoming car on the road I wonder how much shit you'd be in if that happened

The pics of whats left of that bush is shocking the std one has braiding in it to hold together even if it tears.

I can't believe Tabatha hasn't replied to this thread - He was the one recommending the product and got you lot to buy them even listing the ebay numbers and he's posted on other threads giving more advice ignoring this one.

If you'd bought it from a proper company they would have public/product liability insurance and a phone number that they would answer.

This is a good reason for buying from companys NOT from some that can do it cheaper. You have remember your playing with other road users lives.

I have just fitted on of the super flex ones from burtons, so we will have to see how that performs! I did ask burton if there had been any problems with them and they said no, so fingers crossed!
